WTC Celebrates Pride

Jun 15, 2019

The Oculus is now shining a light on New York city pride. the center of the transit hub is not decorated with an inflatable sculpture called “Live for Love.” it promises to attract the attention of commuters day and night.

When the sun goes down it will be lit with LED lights to serve as a lantern and it will remain on display through the 28th of June. pieces of it will then be used in the pride march.

There is new polling out today from Spark Communications ahead of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots and the beginning of the battle for Gay Rights. it finds only 15% of Americans were able to correctly identify the Stonewall Inn as the birthplace of the movement. Activists say it shows there is room for growth when it comes to educating people about Gay history .
